Mr Alessandro Ercolani

Alessandro Ercolani is in charge of a unit which provides Mission Data Systems (i.e. Mission Control System, Operational Simulator and Mission Planning System) to the scientific and astronomy missions of the European Space Agency (ESA).
He moved from Rome (Italy) to Darmstadt (Germany) at the start of his career.

In 2000 he joined ESA and contributed as Software Coordinator to the launches of Mars Express, Rosetta and Venus Express. Today he leads a motivated group of managers/engineers and enjoys trying new ways to organise work and responsibilities as a team.

Mr. Ercolani holds a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the II University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. He lives in a small village south of Darmstadt, and enjoys spending his free time with his family and bike riding.
